The Power of self acceptance

May 5, 2020

I get it, I really do. Beauty is a multi-billion dollar industry and we all want to look our best. But sometimes, the idea of spending money on a new lip gloss or skin cream can feel overwhelming - especially if you're someone who doesn't always feel confident about their appearance. Which is why I'm here to tell you that there's nothing wrong with not wanting to spend money on beauty products: in fact, it's probably a good decision for your wallet! However, if you do want to start investing in yourself by taking care of what makes up your body (and believe me when I say there's no better investment than yourself), then this guide will help get you started!

Accepting what you see in the mirror.

Acceptance is the first step to self-love, but acceptance doesn't mean approval. It's important to recognize that we are not our bodies. We are not what we look like and we don't have to define ourselves by anything external.

Acceptance does not mean resignation or giving up, either. Instead of thinking about how you can improve your appearance in order to feel better about yourself, try thinking about all the things that make you worthy of love: Your intelligence? Your sense of humor? Your big heart?

If you don't like it, change it

To recap: don't be afraid of who you are and remember that beauty comes from within. Don't waste your precious time hiding behind the person you think you should be. If you don't like it, change it!

If a job or relationship isn't making you happy, then this isn't for you. If a friend is causing problems in your life, it's best to end the friendship before things get worse and lead to resentment on both sides. The same goes for toxic family members—it's okay to remove them from your life if they're bringing negativity into it or making things difficult. It might seem like an extreme step at first, but trust me—once they're out of sight they'll soon be out of mind too!

"I love you" said no-one to a bowl of salad.

If you can't say it to yourself, why would you expect anyone else to?

You're beautiful. You're amazing. And everyone wants to hear what you have to say--because they know that it will be worth their time and attention. So don’t give a damn about their approval or the approval of anyone else—just get out there and do what makes your heart sing!

Be Inspired.

When it comes to finding inspiration, there are plenty of sources out there. However, one of the most overlooked is yourself. You should use this as an opportunity to reflect on who you are as a person and why you're doing what you're doing. Are you a fan of gaming? Maybe other people in the gaming community would love to know that! If so, then write about it! Let them know all about your favorite games and who your favorite characters are.

There's no right or wrong way to do this except that whatever inspires others will most likely inspire them too—and if not now, then maybe later when they're ready for it.

Your Beauty Routine Starts with your diet.

If you want to look and feel your best, you have to start with healthy, radiant skin. In order for your skin to be healthy, it needs a balance of moisture, lipids (fats), vitamins and minerals.

Foods that are high in antioxidants help your body produce more collagen which improves firmness. Proteins help build strong muscles and bones while also keeping the digestive system running smoothly. As for carbohydrates: too many can add pounds so make sure you’re choosing complex carbs over simple sugars.

Water is essential for beauty as well as overall health—your body can only function optimally when it has enough hydration! Eight cups per day should suffice but if you aren’t getting enough through other sources like tea or coffee (both contain caffeine which acts as a diuretic), consider adding natural fruit juices such as cranberry juice cocktail or grapefruit juice into the mix since these two fruits contain naturally occurring electrolytes that help rehydrate cells lost through sweat during exercise sessions or hot summer days spent outside working on projects around the house or garden!

But wait…there’s still more! Make sure you get enough sleep every night—at least seven hours each time—because sleep deprivation makes us stressed out which leads directly into wrinkles around our eyes due to constant frowning when we're tired from staying up late working at night rather than taking care of ourselves properly throughout daylight hours instead."

Get Out of Your Comfort Zone!

When it comes to selling yourself, you should be able to sell yourself like a pro. But in order to do that, you need to get out of your comfort zone and push yourself outside of your comfort zone. That doesn’t mean that you have to go skydiving or kayaking in shark-infested waters—though if you want to take “getting out of your comfort zone” literally, we won't stop you! It just means that sometimes when we think about our careers and where they are going, we get stuck in a rut and forget how many different things there are out there for us to try.

One way of doing this is by setting goals for yourself. Of course these goals might seem daunting at first but the more steps towards achieving them that you make each day, the easier it will become until one day they feel like second nature. This can also help build self-confidence and increase motivation--both things that are vital when it comes time for negotiations (in whatever field).

Keep Yourself Motivated.

Motivation is the fuel that gets you going. It's what propels you to take action and keep going when things get tough. And if you're not motivated, then chances are you won't be successful in your career or at whatever it is that motivates your every day work life. If a lack of motivation has been holding back your business results, here are some tips on how to kickstart the process:

  • Know why you're doing what you’re doing. What drives and motivates you? Is it money? Freedom? A sense of purpose? Knowing exactly why will help clarify which goals are most important for achieving success in your business.

  • Get inspired by other successful people who have been through similar challenges as yours—and find out how they overcame them! You can learn a lot from others' experiences during their time of hardship: how they got through those trying times (and succeeded), as well as what mistakes were made along the way (so yours don't repeat).

Accepting your body.

Accepting your body is a very important step on the path to self-love.

You are not perfect. You are not a supermodel or an underwear model or whatever it is you think you should be based on how much time you spend looking at pictures of other people who do what they do and, let’s face it, probably look better than most of us ever will.

You will never be perfect. You can only get so close to it, but there will always be something that makes you feel like “I could have done better with this” or “I wish I were that good at…” or any number of things we all think about ourselves from time to time. If we didn't have those thoughts then we would probably think there was something wrong with us! But really...there isn't anything wrong with being human and having these thoughts pop up sometimes throughout our lives (even though we all wish they wouldn't).

Being happy with who you are and what you see in the mirror is an inside job, so start all beauty regimens from within.

You can't love yourself unless you're happy with who you are and what's in the mirror. You can't be happy with who you are or what's in the mirror if you don't accept yourself first.

We all have flaws, but that doesn't mean we should hate them or try to hide them under layers of makeup, clothing, and other masks. Accepting our imperfections allows us to see ourselves as beautiful despite them because we understand that beauty comes from within—and this goes for physical appearances as well as personality traits.

When we accept our flaws, they become part of our lives rather than something that makes us feel insecure about ourselves (or more often than not). This is why self-love is such an important component of being comfortable with who we are; without it, we'll never be able to fully embrace every aspect of ourselves—including those qualities which may seem less desirable at first glance."

Conclusion

So, to sum it up, I think the biggest takeaway we can all learn from this is that we should be happy with who we are. It's not that easy and takes time, but in the end it will be worth it.

Did you know that most people who appear confident, don't actually really feel that way? Many famous actors, musicians and stand-up comics will tell you how incredibly nervous they feel before they go on stage to perform.
