Celebrate the small.
Introduction
In this world, it's easy to focus on the bigger things. You know, those global tragedies that seem to dominate the news cycle. But did you know that there are small moments of joy in every day? And they're just as important! Whether it's a flower blooming in your garden or a clear day after a storm, these moments bring us joy and make life worth living. So try to be thankful for these little things every day—and be sure to celebrate them when you find them!
A flower
A flower is a simple thing, but there's nothing more beautiful than the simplicity of its form. A flower is nature's way of celebrating life; it grows from the earth, flourishes in sunlight and water and then dies back into the ground to feed new seeds. A flower is symbolically associated with love because of its ability to blossom in springtime—the season when most humans fall in love.
Blue skies
The sky is as blue as the ocean and your heart. You’re in good weather, great weather, perfect weather. The sun is shining down on you and there is nowhere else you would rather be than right here with me now.
I love how you laugh at my jokes even when they aren't that funny but they still make me feel like I'm hilarious (and maybe I am). Your smile lights up my day so much that I can't help but smile back at you because of all the happiness you bring into my life—and we haven't even had coffee yet!
A clear day
“I’m sure you can imagine what a clear day is like.”
The effect of a clear day, in this case, is that it makes the world look new and clean. It makes us want to go outside and do things we haven’t done before.
The birds singing each morning
It is the sound of birds singing that heralds spring.
While you may marvel at their beauty, it is their song that most pleases you.
The birds are singing because they are happy and they are celebrating the new season with its promise of renewal, growth and abundance. They also sing to announce the start of a new day. You will hear them sing early in the morning as well as late at night before retiring for the evening’s rest. The songs are a reminder to us all that our lives have purpose: we must celebrate each small achievement along life’s journey so that we can look forward to better days ahead!
A job well done
It's easy to get caught up in the big stuff. We work hard and we want to see results. But there are a lot of little things that can make your life easier, or at least make you feel better about yourself, that don't take much effort but are still worth celebrating.
Be grateful for the small things in life—the softness of cotton sheets, the taste of chocolate ice cream or pizza on your birthday, a compliment from a stranger (or even someone close!). It's important to recognize these seemingly insignificant moments because they can help bring balance back into your life if things start feeling too overwhelming or stressful.
For example, when I'm having an especially stressful day at work and find myself hoping it will be over soon so I can go home and forget about work for awhile...I remind myself that no matter how bad my day has been thus far (and even though I have another 44 minutes left), there is always something good waiting for me back home: my husband and two amazing children who love me unconditionally no matter what happens during the day (especially when said day involves more than one meltdown).
An act of kindness
Don't underestimate the power of a kind word. Kindness has a ripple effect, and it's important to remember that it doesn't always have to be big. A simple gesture can be just as meaningful as an extravagant one.
Kindness is contagious. When we see someone doing something nice for someone else, it makes us want to do something nice too—it's human nature! So if you're having a bad day or week, try being more conscious about spreading kindness around yourself: maybe smile at strangers on the subway, hold open doors for people, compliment your coworker on their new haircut...you get the idea!
There are many ways to show warmth and respect through acts of kindness—and they don't always have to involve money or material goods either! Sometimes all it takes is showing up when someone needs support or giving someone an encouraging pat on the back when they're feeling down; these things often mean way more than anything else could ever express because these actions show people how much value you place on them as individuals (and not just objects).
Just be grateful!
There is no shame in being grateful for the small things. The simple things that you take for granted, such as having a warm place to sleep, not being hungry or thirsty and having people who love you are all wonderful blessings.
In fact, I challenge you to make it a habit of being grateful for the simple things in life. It will help put your problems into perspective which makes them easier to deal with!
It may not be easy but if we can learn how to be grateful for what we have then maybe one day we'll also learn how to truly appreciate ourselves and others around us as well...
Conclusion
We can all learn to be more grateful. By being grateful for the small things in life we often see our problems as not being so bad after all. This means that we are able to focus on what’s important – the present moment and what we have right now!
